
The IELTS and CELPIP websites crashed on Friday after the new Canadian Immigration programs were announced. Due to sudden demand in language tests technical difficulties were reported.
The new streams were announced on Wednesday, 14th April by Canadian Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Marco E. L. Mendicino, which will clear the way for 90,000+ new immigrants to get permanent status this year. These policies apply to workers in 40 healthcare occupations, as well as 95 other essential jobs across a range of fields, like caregiving and food production and distribution. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will begin accepting applications from 6th May till 5th November, or till limits are reached.

Eligibility Requirements-
• At least one year of Canadian work experience in a healthcare profession or another pre-approved essential occupation
• A Canadian post-secondary program within the last four years.
• Proficiency in one of Canada’s official languages (Minimum CLB4)
• Authorized to work/working in Canada at the time of their application to qualify
These new policies will help those with a temporary status to plan their future in Canada.
